I'm not a particularly big fan of his - he never seems to last very long at any club he joins but he has left Grimsby already (he only joined them 3 weeks ago) but surely even he would be a better option than what we have when Bowman is missing.

No he is crap and would want big wages. I think Duane and Ryan together could cause a lot of problems. Give them a chance, they are still young lads.

According to Soccerbase Connell has a goals per game average of 0.24 in league games, which is only very slightly better than Karl Hawley's 0.23. Signing Connell would be the most pointless, unimaginative, expensive and backwards step I could imagine us taking.

Are we going to try for him on a 1 game contract basis then?

Connell was on loan at the Cobblers towards the end of last season and I don't think he scored. He was an unused sub for Grimsby for both of the games over last weekend when they scored 13 goals. No Hector - I don't think he would add anything to the team. Let's stick with Elliott !!!!!!! :-|

It was just a thought, as he had scored 25 goals in the last season he played at this level, albeit 3 years ago. I think he would get more goals than Benyon or Yeoman but likewise he wouldn't be the first name on my list.

Connell is useless. I thought he might have hit the net at last when I saw Grimsby had scored thirteen in two games. No surprise that he wasn't playing. I honestly think I would rather have Hawley in the side - that hows how bad he is.

Unless we draw them in the FA Cup/Trophy we won't meet Alan Connell as he's signed for Conference South Havant & Waterlooville and played in their 5-0 win at Farnborough yesterday.

Ahahaha, involved with 18 goals in 3 matches and didn't score a single one of them. That's actually getting on for impressive. It must take quite a skill to know with such accuracy where the ball is going to be at any one point in order that you might avoid being anywhere near it for so long.
