Sponsoring the Ladies

Last month, along with a few other generous supporters, I had a go at sponsoring a Gullette. This was in response to a persuasive and well-penned plea from Matt, who went on to gather in the cash only to have to return it to senders when the sponsee was forced to quit the squad

Prompted by today's item on the official site http://www.torquayunited.com/news/artic ... 02444.aspx I contacted Ant Roach (the Ladies' manager, secretary, treasurer, kitman and stud-tightener) about collective sponsorship. There are other squad members in desperate need of our financial support. Ant seems happy to launch another appeal and will receive our pledges, send us TULFC's bank details for payment, and post a running total on the Forum

I am happy to get the ball rolling (keeper to the edge of the area?) with my £30, but it needs YOU to keep up this passing game until we reach our goal

which Ant will advise.

There's never been a better time to support TULFC - they have a 100% winning record this season (OK, so they've only played one game). They need all the help they can get to sustain them in a higher league this season. There's a lot of talent in the TULFC squad - let's make sure we hang on to it. Come on you yellows!!!

Another excellent way to support the team (if money isn't something you can spare) is by coming to watch them play. It'd be nice to see a group of 50 of us on the sidelines.

Thanks Matt. I was impressed when I saw them at Plainmoor vs Exeter - some good passing and a cracking goal. I'll certainly turn up at Bovey T before long.

the sponsee was forced to quit the squad

Just re-read my original post and this didn't sound quite right. "Circumstances caused her withdrawal from the squad" probably sounds better.

Hi All,
Massive thanks to torq2u today for contacting me with a view of resurrecting this thread to raise some money for a TULFC player for the season.

All that is needed is £300 and this covers the players match fees for the season and gives the sponsor coverage on all our media outlets and numerous other benefits.

I think in fairness once the target has been reached then all available players for sponsorship will be placed in a hat a draw to take place for the lucky recipient to be sponsored for the season.

People can PM me with their donations and if you would like to remain anonymous or not with your pledge, I will keep a running total going and I can provide the TULFC bank account details so you can make your donation, or send you details to make payment by cheque or see me at a game to pay cash.

Will be happy to chip in on payday the £15 I was going to put in before. I am hoping to make it to the Brislington game, which I believe is this weekend. Might I be the only gull in the crowd?
