So you might know this but what about the rest of us who are in the dark? Spill the beans.Southampton Gull wrote:The only way we'll get through this is by staying out of the bottim four on the final day of the season.
Things might have been easier if we didn't have to give in to the demands of our ex DOF and buy his shares.

What's to spill? He had the club over a barrel and they had little choice but to buy his shares. 40% if I'm correct.

Not if you want to stop unscrupulous people holding 40% of your club

There's a suprise! Not the shares that were GIVEN to him to look after in the best interests of the club, per chance?Southampton Gull wrote:What's to spill? He had the club over a barrel and they had little choice but to buy his shares. 40% if I'm correct.

Dean Edwards somehow dealt himself a superb hand of cards. Failed Commercial Manager to DOF and major shareholder. I wonder how much money he had to put in to secure that................
I guess we can add failed team manager to that list as well.

So, did he acquire the shares to save the club? Or did he save the club to acquire the shares? Just asking..

There are quite a few who would like an answer to that.
Keep asking!
Keep asking!
Have heard from very reliable source that DE was given to hold 40% of the clubs shares. When our so called saviour was asked to pass them back he demanded 20k or he would not do it. This reluctantly the board agreed to. So with his 10k payoff plus this 20k this makes 30k he has had from the club that he loves to boast about being in his blood and really cares about. There are a lot of upset people at the Club who know that financially the Club is on it's last legs and they are working so hard to get monies in to keep the Club afloat only for a 2 faced compulsive liar to rip the Club off and put another nail in it's coffin. Hopefully people now realise what this man is all about, the man is not a legend he is the lowest of the low.

He's a parasite who happily took money from the club that was desperately needed to help keep us afloat. A failure at every role he took at the club after his playing career was over and a two faced opportunist. Enjoy your little windfall at our expense Edwards, karma is something you will see sooner rather than later.

Why were the current board so quick to roll over to DE's power play?
DE may have held 40% of the shares, but unless my maths is out of date - that still leaves 60% (over half!!) in the hands of others. So why did they give in to the £20k demand? No reason to.
If they are all pulling in the same direction, they would have the majority in decision making thereby rendering DE's shares a nuisance but not a controlling position.
I appreciate that if 11% of the remaining 60% voted with DE that could cause a problem, but if this board is trying to keep TUFC afloat I would expect them to all stand shoulder to shoulder.

I think you will find that Thea retained 20 per cent of the holding.
That would complicate matters even without any idea of what DE intended to do with "his" 40 per cent.
Particularly as he had put no money in to the consortium.

Yes I know who has the shares, I like the use of inverted commas (I realise I should have used them too), perhaps it was a mistake to let him use his own legal team? I've also heard that Thea is entitled to half of any money from player sales so with Lavercombe likely to go to Wigan for in the region of £20k I do wonder if she might feel the need to do something in order to help the club. For her sake I hope she doesn't, she's given more than enough even if her generosity was abused.
