These are truly good times. Gary Johnson just ticks all the boxes!!!!! The Bristol City lads are way above this level and hopefully they stay for the season. Welling, Woking ,Billericky aren't great so as long as this 16 or so players stay we have a chance. McDonald or Bass??? That's the question!!

No match report either on HE/DevonLive or on the official site (which seems to think that Josh Gowling leaving the club is more newsworthy than another excellent result yesterday).

Nothing in it to be honest, more disappointing was one of their players calling a steward on the popside a c**t which the Lino heard and correctly reported it to the ref, not even booked, just warned.

I also witnessed Keating's booking close up. Alright, It was a mistimed tackle and on that surface he slid into the player who then went for an Oscar by banging his hand on the pitch and writhing around in a clear attempt to get him red carded. However, he was up and running again within a minute and didn't even get sent to the touchline before play resumed.

Afraid we are going to get a lot of that stuff with teams trying to knock us off our game one way or another, some of our more fiery players will need to watch it, Keating, Niate, Andrews and MacDonald for example

Torquay put in a really gutsy performance on a pitch that was really difficult to play on. The first two goals by Andrews and Janneh were top class and that set us up to a convincing and important victory. The whole team put in a shift and it is great to see them hassle the opposition in numbers to get the ball back. I'm glad there wasn't torrential rain during the game because I think it would have been abandoned and be played again at a later date.

Much already said on the great display so a word on attendance. With such a dismal day weather-wise one would suspect that many stayed away but nonetheless that still did not prevent us having the highest attendance this season. If we can maintain our top of the league status with a few more wins up to Christmas then one can think the unthinkable with possible 5,000 crowds at Plainmoor for our Truro matches. What an atmosphere that will make.

For regional football that would be pretty impressive - even Osborne may sit up and take notice. And for good reasons as higher attendance figures could "potentially bring in better sponsors" and generate more interest in season ticket sales, the bedrock of any club, by making them appear a "scarce resource" for next season. Imagine a forthcoming game at Plainmoor in which a win makes us the league champions - plenty interest created - all ticket match due to demand being higher than the 6,500 ground capacity- not beyond the realms of imagination.

The players enjoy playing in front of big crowds and yesterday was a good crowd for them. The word is spreading, and supporters are returning to watch the quality of the football on show. These are really good players making a really good team under the auspice of a really good manager.

Was thinking that myself MellowYellow.
We came down for the last game v North Ferriby for us to stay in the National League and there were 4,000+ there, so would expect a match where we would be crowned as champions to attract more than that. The Popside that day was heaving!

Just listened to an 8 minute interview with the Welling Manager.
He agreed the best team won and adapted to the conditions better.
Was critical of the referee suggesting Shaun MacDonald should of got a second yellow for kicking the ball away.
The way I saw it was Shaun was returning the ball to the centre circle for the kick off but sliced his kick due to the close proximity of 2 Welling players.

Agree. What was he supposed to do when the referee was a mong, I refer to mong, as he was same ref at Weston.
