St Albans v Torquay United 27/4/19
I’m glad we wrapped up the championship two weeks ago, this match would have made even a squeaky bum squeak if we had to get a result to get promoted. Somehow after the promotion hangover and the trophy party hangover and Woking bottling it, this match feels insignificant/flat, our small squad has finally succumbed to key injuries and the rest are physically knackered from the key matches that got us to be champions, let’s not forget that. COYY 2-2 draw.

The only target I was interested in this season was promotion. That was achieved so I couldn't care less we've lost 2 on the trot and likewise I couldn't care less about this meaningless (for us) match. Roll on the summer!!

It really is a bit of a 'meh' game after the triumphs and tribulations of the last few weeks. Yes, of course, we'd all like to go away and win in style as we have done on many occasions this season, but I'd not be disappointed even if we lost.... Stale Buns still have something to play for with a chance of making the play offs if Bath do them a favour at The Circus and the teams below them fail to win/draw.
What with Maidstone being relegated (*waves nicely as we pass them on the way up*), Torquay promoted (as Champions - I'll never get tired of typing that!) and my local side (Tonbridge Angels) making the play offs in the Isthmian league it really has been a terrific season all round.
so, boring 0-0 draw it'll be then.

I have purchased 2 tickets to the St Albans game but can't go now due to a family funeral. I paid £30 but will accept £20 or close offer. If you're going save yourself a tenner - I can email you the tickets as they have a QR code on them!
May not be the original, but I am the best 'TauntonGull' .... See I can do signatures too, coz I am a real boy!
I agree with Southampton Gull.

What pub is everyone going to before the game tomorrow?
Not sure what to expect from tomorrow's match. As said in a previous post the result doesn't matter to us with respect to the league title but the beer certainly tastes better when you win. No footballer (certainly our current crop) goes onto a pitch with anything other than winning in their head. Not sure how many fans will travel, someone on their forum has suggested 940 away tickets sold but how accurate is that? Should GJ give Olaf a start and maybe a half for the sub keeper? Will be a good day out and hopefully sign off with a win!!

I am coming down for this - left Edinburgh on the Megabus at 11pm. A bit like Guiseley a few years ago it's more about the celebration, but the difference this time is that we're one goal, one win and three points away from Club Records, and it would be nice to break a few of them to put a cherry on the top of a fantastic season. Not that a defeat would ruin anything.
Not been to a game since January, but it will be my 8th of the season, which isn't bad for a Southern league this year. Bring on Gateshead, Barrow, Hartlepool etc next season. Even Flyde was only about 2 hours for me last season and was a nice set-up.
