Southport v Torquay United Sat 6 Feb 3pm KO
United travel to Lancashire for a 5th Round F A Trophy tie in determined mood after their worst performance of the season on Tuesday.
I am hoping for a 3-1 win to put us in the last 8.

The timing of this match may be perfect for us.
Remember there are no reserve games for players to gain match fitness, so may be ideal for Wynter and Warren. Further formations and partnerships may be tried and formed (or written off) Street, Walters, Umerah spring to mind. If any player is in need of a rest this could be the time.
I firmly believe we will be too strong and progress to the last eight.

Torquay Stream Update
Feb 5, 2021
Further to our update on the stream ahead of tomorrow’s FA Trophy tie against Torquay, we can confirm that our opponents have opted to reject our request to allow season tickets and members free access to the stream. This request has been accepted by all other opponents we have faced at the Pure Stadium this season.
As a club, we agreed at the start of the season that all season tickets holders and members would have free access to these games, this being at a time when we were assured by the National League that grant funding would be forthcoming whilst fans were restricted from attending matches.
In January 2021, this funding ceased and the club was left committed to paying all players and staff last month from our reserves that the Board, fans, staff and volunteers have all contributed towards.
Given our opponents’ refusal to allow the free access, the club will now need to contribute the £9.99 per free subscriber who views the stream.
The club has discussed this at length this evening, and will again allow the free access to be available for those members and season tickets holders who wish to take advantage of it by using their email address and the code “SEASONPASS”.
To support the club, we are asking those who are able to commit to purchase the steam, to continue to do so. It does however remain your choice if you are a member or season ticket holder. For those that choose to pay, we do of course thank you in advance.
Any members and season tickets holders who have purchased a pass already can contact the club for a refund.

Pitch inspection @ 2pm
If it's off forfeit the tie , I suppose we'd get fined then. We don't want to be going up there again Tuesday instead of playing Wealdstone, though I see it's going to be minus 1 at ko time Tuesday so will be off due to a frozen pitch !

I presume they are referring to their own season ticket holders and members, but even so that seems a bit churlish of the club to refuse. Do we get a proportion of the streaming income?Nick Potkins wrote: 06 Feb 2021, 12:56 Interesting on the Southport Website

Yes we get a proportion, as counts as gate money and shared between the teams. Further they pay our costs (I think). They will not make anything from it, will cost them. The only real income is prize money.
Now saying 2.15pm inspection - and they "are giving it every chance..but could do with the rain stopping" - weather forecast giving 90% precipitation all afternoon so looks like its going to be off.
