Wolborough your views on Osborne are entrenched and no matter what he does will you ever change your mind, you call for a wealthy and enthusiatic owner(s), I will take the wealthy, which we have, enthusiastic, dorking have one of them,Billericay had one of those, changes the managers ever other month even tried managing himself because it is his toy to play with as he likes, both are a resounding failure, I certainly do not want that. I argue the point that his he has caused the downfall of the club, that is on Johnson, if the council will not support a new ground then thats it, cannot say he didnt try, as for profit, why shouldnt he make a profit not that is likley to happen with torquay, we have nothing, we own nothing.

Like others I have come to terms with the likelihood of relegation. However, I still have hope that we might somehow survive in the National League. Selling Jarvis to Yeovil before the end of the season would be an acceptance of relegation and a massive insult to the Yellow Army.

That's been my issue with the recruitment. It's not that the players haven't been very good - at our level I think you're always taking a chance when you bring somebody in - it's been that the squad didn't appear to be planned with the intention of supporting this striker (who presumably was given a multi-year contract to come down from way up north). Da Silva was brought in later on, but his end product was terrible. Maybe the plan was to deploy Martin and Crowe as speedy wing-backs to whip in the crosses, but neither have been sighted for months.

If Scunthorpe still manage to go down with all those new players, how **** are they? We've needed reinforcements for a long time but panic signing anybody who happens to be available in February doesn't seem to be the smartest plan. I wouldn't call that the "right way", although of course if they pull it off, it won't matter that much.

Couldn't decide where to cut off the quote, with all the commas, but here we are.

I'd take enthusiastic over wealthy every time, especially if the wealth has the kind of strings attached to that Osborne does. Enthusiasm can do a lot to build back the ties to the community, to engender some good will, and to make people care about the club again. Obviously both is the dream, but I think the chances of a *second* lottery winner swooping in is pretty slim.

i would say the majority now know where we will be next season and club need to prepare for that and look at what sort of player we can get, do we go part time? assume there will be another mass clear out again.

i reiterate a point i made some time ago, look at the likes of scunthorpe, changed their manager at the right time, bought in about 7/8 new faces and i think you'll see them be the team that stays up, done it the right way.

That was purely down to new investment in the club and the team.
Osborne had the same opportunity and didn't - or wouldn't take it.
