What happened in 21 Days?
On Saturday 22nd July United beat League 1 Exeter City 4-1 before 3,000 delighted fans.
OK it was a PSF but we showed on that day real desire, intensity and ability. 10 of our starters against Worthing started against Exeter the 1 exception being Tom Lapslie who was not available due to injury.
So 21 days after beating Exeter we put in a shocking performance against Worthing. What had changed? Certainly not the players and with 2,700 fans in the ground the atmosphere was good.
The more I think about it the more I try to kid myself this was just a one off blip. Surely tomorrow night we must see a reaction from a team deeply embarrassed by a pathethic performance on Saturday which will have shocked each and every one of them. Pro Footballers are no different to any other Professional Sports Player they do not like to be shown up and made to look second rate.
Expect a reaction tomorrow night and just get behind the team from minute one.

Someone did say, don't expect NLS teams to play it out from the back like Plymouth and Exeter. How wrong could they be. Why have WE stopped playing football and resorted to pub league hoofball?

I too watched the exeter game where we were accused quite rightly at times of being far too robust, move forward a few weeks and we have players that can not only no longer tackle but seem to have what little football brain remo, I see very little chance of a reaction tomorrow but we just do not have the players.
Look its a friendly match - get over it. You've been watching football long enough to know that the are meaningless kickabouts.
Exeter and Plymouth are unbeaten. We are useless. End of.
Look for the obvious reasons why we are so poor. Poor recruitment defensively and midfield. Too many old/injured players. Too many youngsters not at this level and a terrible management duo.

brucie I know it was a PSF and yes the result is always meaningless but Exeter did not turn up and expect to lose 4-1 did they?
We all know recruitment has been poor but at times we have played extremely well especially holding Wrexham to a draw just 15 weeks ago.
What can Johnson do? I doubt the owner is going to produce the cash for recruits so he is very limited in what he can do.
First 3 good loans but easy to say hard to do especially as we are now at NLS level.
Secondly off load 3 or 4 of the rank poor performers but who would take them?
Johnson and Downes know they are in trouble and I expect a serious reaction from the players tomorrow and if they chuck in the towel we are going to see some big changes.

It is just so difficult to understand that, for the second season in a row, Johnson has got his recruitment so wrong. He had an entire pre-season to get things in order and yet we still end up with an unbalanced squad, apparently not fit for this league. He is already questioning whether some of the players are good enough, how about looking at yourself Gary and asking yourself the same question. Just how much are the club paying him and Downes to produce this continuing shambles - nothing appears to have improved from the shit show of last season.
Wrexham had already won the league and had been on the piss all week. Their goalkeeper spent half the game talking into a go pro camera. Theres no point in looking into these games for answers.
What reaction are we going to get from the players if they are simply not good enough. Johnson knows he has **** it big time. You know it - I know it. Worthing looked average enough to me in the highlights but we were absolutely pathetic. We would have lost to Taunton had we played them.
We are going to get relegated with the likes of Tomlinson as our first choice centre half - he looks like a 14 year old chucked into the NL South. Dont blame him - just blame Johnson.
As you say though 3 good loans minimum - If I was Johnson I'd be begging Cardiff to let us have Evans back - even just for a month.
Our forward line is good enough - but they are going to be blunted by that midfield. That Worthing game was a shitshow - Johnnson should have been gone by now for assembling that midfield/defence its criminal - we will end up a laughing stoick if this continues.

Because we played well, because we still had a chance to stay up.Jean Valdez wrote: 19 Aug 2023, 09:31 You showed excitement and emotion about your team's performance in the match.
Wrexham, whatever people may say about their preparation and application, knew they'd been in a game and took it pretty seriously.
We obviously miss Nico at the back, but Dawson in midfield and Nouble up front are big losses as well. Jarvis looks like a player who's had his head turned and the partnership with Ash isn't gelling so far.
