Mr Deadman - why does that ring alarm bells?

Have we had him recently?

Yes!

A certain irony in his appointment given that he was one of the reasons why we didn't get to OT the first time around! He was the man in charge for the 4th Round FA Cup game v Crawley. Hopefully he has a better game this time around! The fact that he sent Zebs off (and one of theirs eventually), gave two penalties against us and generally allowed Crawley to use every trick in the book without taking firm action (apart from when he finally booked Tubbs for his "antics" when being subbed) does not bode well... particularly as we are likely to face something similar with Stevenage. I hope he's stronger this time around!!! :red:

I was always the last one to be picked when we played football at school so I chose to be a referee instead

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Getting the laces tied up on my boots correctly without the use of my velcro boots

What is the best game you have officiated and why?

Bashley Park FC v Dorking FC - Because I made a weekend of it and stayed in the New Forest for the weekend bird watching

What are your aims as a National List Referee?

To learn my 8 times table and learn the rules of football

What skills do you think you need to become a referee?

You need to be able to write for when booking players, I practice that alot during the games for pointless reasons

Who has been the biggest influence in your career and why?

Bones from Superted, even though he was on the side of the bad guys, he had some very sensible views such as "I am not going in that cave, I will get my slippers dirty"

In your opinion who is/was the best referee?

This is a tricky one, I think it would have to be the bald one from Italy...... ooohhh I love bald men

I thought only capable referees were used in big games like these?

dear god, say it isn't so. he doesn't even LOOK like he can handle a big occasion. in fact, he looks like he shat his pants having that photo taken.

i'll just live in hope that he might think he owes us one for the crawley fiasco.

I just hope he doesn't see the red shirts of Stevenage and think we are still playing Crawley.

I loved Awayday's edit of the referee's profile! =D

I don't think that worrying or getting worked up about the referee is necessary though. We have the players to play Stevenage off the park at Old Trafford and if we click I can't see the referee having any influence over the outcome. Mark Charles out of the game, man to man if necessary, and play our normal attacking style and hopefully by the time the prawn sandwiches get served up at half time it will be game over! ;-)

To be honest, I didn't have any complaints about the penalties or Zebroski red card. We got sucked into Crawley's game instead of playing our own which is why this isn't our second trip to OT this season.
