Wonder what effect the rain will have on play?
Expecting another positive display so going for a 3-2 win

Ladies and gentlemen 2.1 isn't going to work out every week
Having said that I'd take a 2.1 win right now. From at TUFC point of view 676 fans away at Bath Tuesday night was an outstanding effort, by our fanbase which is simply the best, this also shows the level of unity we now have at our club, not really interested in who Bath had fit or not, that was a first rate win as Bath always have strong teams at this level, even missing a few.
Dorking are a good and strong team at this level, this will no doubt be a tough afternoon for our team, and I'm hoping for more patience from all our fans, as the road ahead will have some bumps in it, but our team will grow, will develop, just have a sneaking suspicion this game may have come a bit too early our teams development.
Dorking to date have won away at Truro, beaten Chippenham and picked up a credible 2.2 draw v Boreham Wood, whilst I sadly fear defeat, hoping another big and loud crowd might be enough to squeeze out a draw, but I will be as happy as everyone else later to be proved wrong of course.

There is a direct correelation between crowd size and a successful team, once you remove the iniital euphoria of having the club under proper ownership they is a base level of support that can only be consistently held or increased by success on the pitch, if, come December/January we are hovering just above the relegation zone, its a tuesday night and the temperature is hovering around freezing and the wind is gale force off the moor I as an elderly season ticket holder will consider the positive advantages of screeening the match from my sofa. If the scenario of a poor league posiition comes to pass ,logic states you can only sell a second rate product for so long regardless of loyalty. That mindset changes hugely with a team in contention, an extra layer of clothing and the 70 mile round trip goes from an outside maybe to a definte yes.Taelee73 wrote: 24 Aug 2024, 07:21 Another hard game to predict, we have shown moments of quality and moments of hoof ball, we have conceded in every game but also created chances.
More important at this early stage for me is the attendance, after a decent opening crowd we alway seem to dip alarmingly back down to the 2000s, only rising if we get a decent cup match or towards the last games of the season if we have a chance of relegation or promotion.
I hope we can stay above 3000 for as long as possible, for the momentum, atmosphere and extra income.
2-2 draw and 3100.
Torquay United 2 Dorking Wanderers 1
2-2. Tough early test against one of the favourites to win the league.

After watching Coventry City Scratch out a 1-1 at Bristol City I'm ignoring Dave's wise words and going for a 2-1 Torquay win....
Going for a big performance
