I would think it was highly likely that he was already on a promise from Johnson and Downes subject to Downes confirmation. Whatever Wotton was able to offer wouldn’t compare with the opportunity to play league football.desperado wrote: 14 Nov 2024, 12:31 Ethon Archer now attracting Championship and League One interest after his impressive start for Cheltenham. The article said other National South clubs were after him but none higher until Cheltenham enquired. Surely we must have offered him something when we re- signed the likes of Tomlinson and Ash ? He didn't sign for Cheltenham until July. Maybe Wotton didn't think he was his kind of player.
Well he is just the sort of player we are missing,
takes on defenders with pace and quick feet and creates chances.

Not sure that's the case-Warnock saw him play several times towards end of last season and apparently wasn't too impressed as though he was a willing runner who put in plenty of effort(more so than most others in the team at the time) there was no end product. Wotton would have listened to such advice and likely made a decision on not retaining him on that basis.

On a prove yourself contract to the end of the season. IF he produces then maybe keep him. Clearly Yeovil do not think he can play at National League level. I would say he should improve the squad but we need him to be a match winner. The acid test will be, if we get promoted, how he handles the higher grade.

Think you've answered your own point there tbh....North Curry House wrote: 16 Dec 2024, 11:58 On a prove yourself contract to the end of the season. IF he produces then maybe keep him. Cooke does his best up top and doesnt get dragged into trying to play the 'big' man as much as Aaron Jarvis used to but i always felt we saw the best from AJ when Nouble joined. Nouble did all the hold up play (a lot better) and allowed AJ a lot more freedom
If we ever lost Cooke for a period of time we dont have a replacement

No....as nice a guy Frank is, he's coming towards the end of his career, he's never been a 15 to 20 a season man, ever, Yeovil are very hit and miss right now, and I'm not sure he's even netted this season... personally I wouldn't sign him, plus I don't want to keep getting Yeovils cast offs, we can do better than this.gullno4 wrote: 16 Dec 2024, 09:58 Frank Nouble has apparently been made available for transfer. It is not what I think but the views of Wotts and his team, interesting to know of Neil Warnock's view. Just think at the moment he could improve our goal scoring output by assisting Cooke.
Went to Yeovil for better money, so wouldn't come cheap-given the constraints on our budget I think any money available should be utilised in strengthening our squad elsewhere.

Given the surprising bumper crowds and the money raised through other avenues we must be north of £500,000 above what was originally expected but given the debts faced when the Bryn consortium took charge I'd rather those debts were settled earlier than spent on aging journeymens excessive wage demands. One decent loan acquisition could tip automatic promotion into our laps. Definitely no need to waste it on anyone who already proved capable of turning us down previously.

He's more likely to sign for one our London based rivals like Boreham Wood or Maidstone
