We all got ahead of ourselves with the long unbeaten run that took us to the top of the league. This squad was never good enough to win the league but having been built from literally nothing it was never likely to be.

Maybe we can go up through the playoffs but that seems unlikely and quite frankly if we go up a level this squad needs some serious reinforcement to have a chance of staying up there. Staying in this league is bad. Going up and then coming back down is a disaster. Honestly another year down here building a squad that's really ready to go up might not be the worst thing in the world. Doesn't mean days like today aren't still completely nauseating.

However, its been painfully obvious that the squad needs strengthening, some of the 15 playing with knocks, our rivals have brought players in whilst we haven't

It's not about rose tinted thinking of winning the league it's sensible business decisions around squad depth

The result today kills any chance we had of winning this piss poor league and means the honeymoon period could be over. Two goals up at half time, we should be bringing the three points home....will be lucky to get in the playoffs. Just hope the attendances do not drop off significantly. This will tell us what PW is made of.

BBC commentary stated yet again we were very leggy second half, another game of 45 minute united and that is fast becoming our byword, but why, we haven't had a game for seven days,we are a supposed full time team in a part time league, but results and performances dictate we are not that fit. mentallly or physically. Only four subs today and all midfielders that shows how unbalanced we are as a squad, it is suggested we are trying to bring in new players, I would strongly suggest after today the club saves its money until next season because I no longer think we will make the play offs. Just because alfie pavey did not wish to sign for us this week ,was there a plan B or plan C, obviously not.
I hope Wotton in his post match does not say that this loss is hard to take or the pitch was dire or we are down to the bare bones, all of which may have a partial relevance but it also applicable to the majority of teams in our league.

Shocking result after being 2-0 up. Honeymoon has been over for a while. Bare bones and tired bodies and zero recruitment at this stage and this is what you get.
If the owners are serious now is the time for action.
However co commentary for me is not a priority for a joint owner ! Neither is a ‘taking flight’ production !
Cut to the chase and concentrate on getting bodies in when needed or this season is going to fizzle out like a damp firework. Time to stand up, roll the sleeves up it’s the business end. And that starts at the very top .

Two up at half time, and to lose by conceding two at the death is soul destroying.

Next two games against other playoff contenders are big. 6 points and things would feel a lot better, but that is very wishful thinking!

Clinging onto the fact we have 2 games in hand on the top two, but realistically playoffs look our only chance if we are to go up this season.

Well done SG, using a defeat to prove your ‘genius’ and beat Wotton with, you’d have gone quiet last season if we’d lost today with Johnson in charge.

Frustrating to lose, of course, unnecessary to have lost, of course, you shouldn’t lose a game after being 2-0 up, throwing away the chance to go up straight away, it looks like it. However most of our back line is still missing, and no one team is running away with the league. For the millionth time, you don’t build a promotion winning squad in 6 months.

Our away from has been shocking all season and this is no surprise! The only disappointing thing is we gave everyone hope by going into a 2-0 lead!
I think after last season stability was the name of the game, I am just a little disappointed with all the good will and great crowds coming into the club this year. We have not invested and strengthened. Everyone apparently Kept saying the beginning of the season we needed gates of 2000 to stay a well-run club and sustainable, So there must be some extra cash we can use! I do not buy into this no one wants to come to Torquay playing in front of big crowds larger away following in the hunt for promotion. Come on really no one want to come here!!! Let get out there and bring a couple of players in for the run in. There is still everything to play for and the games will come thick and fast.
And if there is no one permanent it's time for Warnock to call in some favours with some decent loan signings to see us through

Nothing of the sort. I commented after listening to his after match interview which as I said contains every excuse under the sun while taking no blame whatsoever. I'm over the last manager, clearly some of you aren't. Listen to the interview and tell me I'm wrong.......

Agreed, how could you not, good people are running the club, something that we are are all eternally grateful for.
If they hadn’t there wouldn’t be this forum, club ect.

With the euphoria of salvation comes expectation and the owners are fully aware of that but something isn’t quite correct. Anyone who was at the Boxing Day game (with all respect to Weymouth) could see we weren’t good enough to win this league, we were sussed, easily by a team that will probably be playing in the league below down next season.

Probably going to get slaughtered for this but I’m going to suggest it’s player unity, they don’t seem to be a unified bunch, players have to be a selfish breed these days but I haven’t seen our players (with exception of one or two) wanting to motivate each other the crowd. When they score at Plainmoor they always peel away to the corner of the family stand, why? So they can get maximum camera coverage.

Anyone who experienced Leroy’s training sessions at Newton Abbot would have seen how he stopped moves in mid flight and coached the team involvement, spirit and it paid off.

Said a few times, we are short of a few players for a top of the table team. But that’s understandable given the situation in the recent past. Bit, or very disappointing to lose from 2-0 up against an average on the day, home side. Could well have been 3-1 or 4-1 up before the inability to clear the ball. I thought we played ok but as above, are just a few short. I’m not sure that’s PWs fault as some are alluding to. We’d struggle with this team in the league above.
