Hemel Hempstead v Torquay United

Post by jamestee67 »

Got to win big. Need three swing in goals more than Truro score I believe. So, perhaps five for Torquay? So....
Hemel Hempstead 0 v 5 Torquay United... away win. Let's keep everything crossed. Will be listening on the radio.

Well it's here. Final game of the season (hopefully) as we travel to Vauxhall Road to take on Hemel with a chance of going up as Champions.

Can we? Will we? Who knows! But, if anything, this season has surpassed all expectations most of us had at the start of the season so to go to Hemel on Saturday and score 2 more than Truro (other permutations are available) would just be the icing on the cake of what has been a fantastic season considering where the club was only 12 months ago.

So, for the final time this season - and remember it's double points for this game - your predictions please....

I'll kick it off with a 3-0 win to United.

And for one game only, I'm sure we'll all become St Albans fans as they travel down to deepest darkest Kernow to (hopefully, yes, I've used that word quite a bit in this thread) and come away with at least a point... and - hopefully - all three!

It's the hope that kills you!

If this comes in ill be both £1k richer through bet 365 for our championship winning season and prediction league champion. I know which one id prefer.

HH 2 - Gulls 5

I think itll be a rollercoaster.

My head says were not going to make it though and wouldnt be surprised to see Truro not make it either.

Got my ticket, looking forward to it.

I can’t see us making the goal difference swing here but predict a 2-1 away win that will secure 2nd place. Great to see bumper crowds at Plainmoor and perhaps more for the home playoff games.

5-1 to the mighty gulls. I can't exactly win this PL so it's my ballsy attempt at a last minute jump!

Gotta be more aggressive in shooting. Really good result yesterday but several times too much trying to work a better shooting chance. Saturday has got to be a shoot at all costs event. Still looks like the whole team are working well together and trying to move the ball around. Forecasting a 3-0 win but probably not enough to get ahead of Truro. Whatever, it's been a far far better season than expected and fantastic crowds.

Does Wotton go all out attack to try and get the two goal swing, risking being wide open? Or play to win ‘normally’ and hope Truro drop points?

A situation where Truro win 4-3 and we win 3-0 would mean we wouldn’t go up on goals scored or h2h with a two-goal swing.

This is a tough one. Go all out with attacking flair and we risk the counter punch. Not winning the game and sacrificing 2nd or 3rd spot would be a hammer blow. I see a cagey first half and maybe accelerating in the second. A home draw in play off games would be massive and you'd have to say we'd be favourites. 2 home play off games would net the club circa £100k and that is not to be sniffed at (make up for the FA Cup run we never had).
I still feel Truro will win and we'll need to score minimum of 4 goals.
So I'm going Hemel 0 - Gulls 4😊
