The Shortlist
If John Hughes is good enough for Owen Coyle he's good enough for me. If he's going to bring that kind of culture and philosophy to the club then I'm all for it.
Besides, there's not a name on that list that doesn't represent a gamble in one way or another.

Speaking to a Scunny fan on another forum I'm on he seemed to think Barraclough would do ok here and was just abit out of his depth at Championship level. He did aswell as any manager in charge of Scunthorpe would of done it was always going to be tough to keep them up so I feel its unfair to judge him on that.hector wrote:What I find interesting is quite a few people are quick to denegrate John Hughes and his record, when he has achieved promotion and kept an unfashionable club like Falkirk in the SPL for four years, plus get Hibs to 4th...even if that went a bit pear shaped afterwards....yet would prefer Baraclough who did disastorously as manager of Scunny.
My feeling is that it will be Forster and yet part of me wants Hughes...it is a hard one to call but for me it should be between those two.
Forster,Hughes or Barraclough would be my choices. Preferably Forster or Barraclough purely because they'll have a better understanding of the level we curently are.
Of the three being mentioned, I hope it's Forster, think it'll be Baraclough and would really rather it wasn't Hughes. In any case, here's to an exciting day and the start of a positive new era for TUFC.

Alex russell WILL NOT be manager as he wasn't interviewed...Hargreaves doesn't look like getting it either.
I'm really hoping for Forster, I'd be delighted with that.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the new manager is Holdsworth.
How do you know this?brucie wrote:Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the new manager is Holdsworth.
If this is true then I think I will cancel my season ticket. Even Newport County in the Conference turned him down. Bloody better not be!
