It seems the fat one will have to sit this one out, along with their next 5 home games! He has received a ban following his actions towards a female steward after the "Bradford Brawl" last season.

Not sure whether this will work to our advantage or not really, I think their players might play better without him in their ears to be honest.

I guess our fans will just have to abuse the hell out of Raynor instead :)

Hi Matt
I agree Evans will give them merry hell and threaten to eat them if they dont get a result against us however they are still bedding in a number of players. I think Sharps best days are gone and Pringle didnt exactely set the world alight with his short spell with us. I think it could be a good time to play them especially if there fans get on their backs.
I did bang my head this morning...

Ah well. Raynor can suffer the abuse for both them. He deserves it as much if not more.

I hope you're right Steve, and I do see what you're saying. I just find it hard to see past their present home record. Who knows, I hope you're right and we come away with three (I'd take one) well earned points. Are you going?

The tough start continues! 3 away games against clubs who will all be in/around the playoffs. I guess it's good to play them early.

Think we will lose but we'll score the first away league goal at the NYS. 2/3-1 I think.

Just a note though, CP. It'll be interesting to see how Rotherham respond, but when the hearing was (last Wednesday), they lost 2 games in a row (1-0 at home to York in the JPT on the Tuesday, and then Vale on saturday). It will be interesting but it could be a good time to play them. We will need to be more like we were against Cheltenham/Rochdale than we were against Argyle in order to gain anything though!

Could we get a chant of "hes fat hes round he cant get in the ground Steve Evans" going on Saturday?

Not too confident on Saturday. I expect we will get the backlash after the hammering they got on Saturday at Vale and will want to get back to winning ways against us.

Interesting to note that Rotherham are evens for a win(skybet). I would have thought 1/2 at the very least. Just maybe they dont have so much faith in Rotherham winning as some of us. ;-)

I didn't realise it was a stadium ban, I was just expecting it to be touchline ban. Bound to have a bit of an impact - I'm sure an Evans hairdryer at half-time isn't as effective via skype..........

Hopefully this will mean the officials get an easier time as well. OK Claire Rayner will still be there looking like a div but I can't think of any comedy double-acts who were as funny once they split up.

I think this will be a massively tough game, but a reminded of a successful similar scenario in our halcyon promotion season of 2003/4. That year when we went to the shiny new stadium of the leagues big-spending favourites (Hull and the KC Stadium), we weren't given a hope in hell but came away after demonstrating a masterclass of counter attacking football and a deserved 1-0 win. More of the same would be great, but I'd bite your arm off for a draw.

I remember that one Jeff, Gritts getting the winner. I was there, happy days.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Quiet on here this week.

Not much in the way of news from the Rotherham end, but they expect to sign a striker "soon" (as of 13th Sept). Much speculation that it might be that well known flop, Matt Tubbs. Lovely at Conference level and in a team in L2 assembled for millions of pounds, but decidedly average in a team which hasn't cost 10 times the rest of the division combined. Yet more evidence that Cheaty's success is down to money and not talent.

One other name mentioned was Mr death-by-dangerous-driving himself, Lee Hughes. If he can go more than 5 minutes without getting off his tits and murdering people, he would, unfortunately, be a decent acquisition. Aaah to be the most needlessly rich club in the division...

Apparently Kari Arnason has an injury picked up on international duty so won't be recalled. Thats from their forum but not official.

We could also link arms (i'm not gay though) and sway from side to side like a sort of dumbed down camp version of the poznan! If we don't do it Sky will. ;-)
