When the sequence of three home games is completed against Crewe, it s away to Morecombe then it s a run of four (YES FOUR) successive games at home, weather permitting of course. After that sequence it s Barnet away then another run of four home games with only Accrington away. From the beginning of the year until completion of the home game against Stevenage on Saturday March 5th, eleven of the fifteen matches would/will have been played at home (not including further progression in the Cup/replays).

For reasons mentioned elsewhere, where will people who have little money, find any to support these games ?

The die hard 1800 – 2000 will find the means somehow and the coming sequences give us the opportunity of getting back in the playoff places and consolidating that position.

It goes without saying that our League form at home must improve as a matter of urgency.

As an after thought, the last home midweek game against Aldershot in mild September attracted an attendance of 2167.

More against Crewe or less ?

You are right in saying that right now money is tight,more and more families are seeing there income being squeezed,however i think the problem runs deeper than that,its not just down to lack of money.

The board could look at offering reduced prices etc to help fans afford to cover the cost of these home games,however why should they?,they reduced gate prices for the Walsall cup game and our stayaway fans repaid the board in full by still not turning up.

If the board did offer match deals for fans wanting to come to all these home games then hats off to them,however i would not blame them one bit if they did not.

Yes your right our home form at times has not been great,my appeal is to us the fans saturday proved what a good home support can do to team morale and performance,the board clearly are putting there time and money in,they need us the fans to back the club aswell,they can not push the club further forward with out us.

I imagine the board were waiting for the cup draw. If we had a home draw against Manchester United, then they could have run a voucher scheme to get more through the turnstiles.

There were many many new faces in the famly stand on Saturday, that of course is good, most seemed to really enjoy themselves.

I always favour "bounce back" vouchers encouraging fans to come back again.

If I were the board, I would initially make Derby all ticket and see how sales go, those keen to go to the match are guaranteed entry and then they could still make it pay on the gate for a set number on the day, and of course Derby could easly take 2000 plus tickets. Maybe the club need to divide the popular side like against Notts County

I'm at a loss as to what the solution(s) is/are. Maybe a voucher system where see two get one reduced ? See all the sequence of four for a one off up front discounted price ? Any pricing structure must increase the attendance but not reduce income.

I do like the idea of a warm up announcer to get the crowd going. It certainly worked on Saturday. Same again Tuesday ?

I am in favour of schemes to get people into the ground, but as a non local I am always against voucher schemes. Even though I don't do many home games, I go to plenty more away games. I have always tried to make as many home games as I can get away with, but make a special point of going to the bigger games. Therefore it is near on impossible for me to make 2 home games prior to a big game so I get to miss out.

There are enough younger fans who have finished school and jobless, but would love to get to more games. Why not do something where these people sell tickets to businesses etc and for every 20 they sell, they get a free ticket. If they want to sell their free ticket for cash then fair enouogh, if not they can keep it for them selves. I had a mate who did it for gym membership, he use to go to factories etc and sell loads. His was more commissioned based, however if these guys "volunteered" then you wouldn't break any employment laws. Then you could go as far as for those who sell the most get a free meal or something, and you could have monthly prizes etc. Then the person who sold the most in the year could spend the last home game of the season in the dug out or something?

Some cracking ideas there. What about who sold the most in a season or who reaches a set number sold during a season has therefore earned themselves a season ticket ?

As for the voucher arrangement for the Cup tie, there's another game against Gillingham the Saturday before on January 22nd. It's possible that vouchers will be handed out at that game as well. Maybe someone is going to the Crewe game but can't get to the Cup tie. They could then send you a voucher ? You could contact the club and explain your situation ? If all else fails and I'm allowed more than one ticket/voucher then I get it for you and you pay me on the day.
