Soccerbase is your friend, here, I'd imagine. If you don't have any luck on there, I'll have a look, but I'm sure it has all the lineups and stuff on there.

Have tried the Soccerbase route, but it gives up on teams and subs around about the mid-90s.

Ah, in that case, I don't know - most of it is before I started following TUFC.

I' trying to remember the Scunthorpe game. I thought we'd come down to Devon for that one, but thought we'd lost. Or was it that we played Scunthopre in the last league game and needed to win to go up. I seem to remember talking to some Scunthorpe fans on Newton Abbot station who said they would ahve rather lost as they'd have played someone different in the play off. So I'm not a lot of help then as on reflection it must have been the league & not playoff game that I went to.

Blackpool at Wembley was one of the great Torquay matches.
Colchester somewhat disappointing, especially coming back through Liverpol Street with thousands of happy Colchester fans.

About the only thing I can think of that might help, is the Herald Express or Western Morning News archives

Just some advice, you may not want to post your email address in a public post on any site as you'll open yourself up to spammy emails coming your way with all the bots and cyber spam machines that trawl the web for email addresses to advertise their cheap viagra and send you sob stories about why you should surrender your bank details to help with an investment... I'll shut up now.

But after 18 months working on the book, I could do with some 'cheap' viagra and a dirty Russian bird at the moment.... 8-]
Seriously, the email given will only be used until the end of this summer or until the project is finished.
Thanks for the heads up anyway.

I had a dirty Russian Bird drop in my garden the other day, Seemed to be a migrating swan or summat and it looked totaly knackered and filthy. You can have that one if you like. it looks as if it needed viagra to keep it standing up too.
Sorry can't help with other stuff. But clearly remember the Blackpool Wembley game. Had to travel part way back with the Blackpool fans. That evenatualy started the Glostergulls and we haven't looked back since.
Good luck in your venture though.

Jon Gittens - does anybody else remember him fracturing Florin Raducioiu's cheekbone at a pre-season friendly vs West Ham? Think this would have been '96. Was practically an assault.

I went to that game with my father - one of only 2 that I ever went to with him - and as he was a West Ham fan it particularly galling for him. Torquay won the game 2-1, IIRC.

Yeah remember it well -and Harry Redknapp,Hammers Manager at time, kicked-off about it big time.Something like" we come down to these clubs to play a friendly as a gesture of goodwill and their player commits a disgraceful challenge on Florin "
I remember being a bit embarrassed about myself-he was carried off in agony if I remember rightly?
