Hello and thanks from Chesterfield
Hello and thanks from Chesterfield
Just sat relaxing at home after a fantastic overnight stay in your friendly town and wanted to thank you all for making our trip enjoyable, we arrived early in the morning and was in the pubs from 9.30 and was for most of the day and night without a cross word from anyone even in your club when there were quite a bit of banter between both sets of fans. I'd like to also wish you good luck for the rest of the season and will be hoping for a playoff win for you and a great weekend next season. It was great meeting some of you in particular the lads at the end of the bar who we later spoke to in town. Once again Thank you and good luck
Pete

If you REALLY appreciate our hospitality, you could always show it by winning on Saturday. :~D

Glad you enjoyed your stay. I think the atmosphere in the first half proved that the singers should stay up towards the away end. What was your view on the atmosphere? In terms of chesterfield fans, I thought that when you all got going you were quite good (its hard not to be in that away end to be honest) but for most of the game there was only a small pocket singing in the middle.
We intend winning Matt and with fans on 4 sides of the ground i'm sure we'll be the 12th man, I'm confident we'll do our bit to help you. Parry we were right behind the net so it was quite loud until late in the game when we got nervous and went pretty quiet

Glad you enjoyed typical devonshire hospitality. Please can you make sure your boys beat the Gills on saturday thus ensuring our play off spot and your title. From the only Torquay fan who lives on Spital Lane in Spital, Chesterfield!!
Quality Andy, did you travel? Are you at the B2net next Sat willing us on? it'll be a sell out by Wednesday I suspect and i'm sure we'll be victorious not only for us but for you.
Sorry Andy i forgot you were playing at the run down athletics track and will probably be there with your binoculars, I really really hope you win there

I would go to the B2NET (awful stadium name by the way but thats the way football is now i suppose) on saturday but we have a game at the don valley v rotherham which i will be going to. i,ve been to watch chezzy many times over the years at saltergate and i will miss the old ground. Me and a few mates would often go to night games and have a few jars in
the market and onto the barley mow and watch the blues. Usually getting two for one tickets from the coop in hasland! What bugs me the most is that i go to tesco nearly everyday (being a compulsive shopper!!) and pass the b2net feeling jealous that you have this new stadium and promotion!! I'd just settle for a gulls promotion and a redeveloped plainmoor grandstand, oh and jack lester on loan!!

I will be watching your scoreline and hoping you beat Sheffields 4th team on Saturday. To be honest you shouldnt be jealous, you have a great football club and 1 of my favourite away games this season, promotion could be yours after the next 4 games, wonder if I could pop Lester up the A61 for the 2nd half at DVS
May I add my thanks to the people of Torquay for some fantastic hospitality this weekend. Just got back to Newcastle after an epic 9 and a half hour train journey! It was my first visit to the town and thoroughly enjoyed myself!
Best of luck at Rotherham on Saturday!
Hopefully see you again next season!

What a nice lot you Spirites are!!
Fate: A police dog called Bryn bit Torquay player Jim McNichol and the time while he was receiving treatment was added onto the end of the second half.

I was thinking this, Chip. I reckon it's 'coz they're going up, la vita bella when you're top of the league. Just you watch, next year, when they're relegated with zero points, they'll be right grumpy gits!
Of course, I jest, CTFC fans have always been nice whenever I've come across them and as for next season, if they continue to play the football they did against us and on the TV against the Millers, they could find themselves staring down the barrel of the L1 playoffs.
