Hornchurch v Aveley
Play off this afternoon for place in NLS.
Both clubs are local to me in Essex.
Hornchurch walking distance. I watch them occasionally. Stadium not up to much. Athletics track.
Aveley have a new ground. I haven’t been there but Aveley itself is a nothing place. No railway station.
Aveley currently winning 1.0.
Both these sides have always played below NLS level and it will be sad to see Torquay having to play them.

Indeed, although I've realised that other than Truro if they go up, all the away games will be closer to Essex than Plainmoor.DevonBee wrote: 01 May 2023, 15:33 Wonderful… sums up exactly how far we have fallen down the pyramid of football![]()

Sounds like either are the type of grounds we are going to get absolutely drenched. No shelter on a cold wet Tuesday night, standupsitdown wrote: 01 May 2023, 15:25 Play off this afternoon for place in NLS.

The Loyal ones including our very own Paul Bastard deserve far better than these sh1t pits we will be attending.

They don't pay the players very much, and they probably make money from the pitch for the other 13 days out of every fortnight

And it's Christmas and New Year fixtures with Truro City again. They beat Bracknell 3-2 in their play off today.

Looking at their accounts their a richer club than us with net assets of £7million.happytorq wrote: 01 May 2023, 17:54 They don't pay the players very much, and they probably make money from the pitch for the other 13 days out of every fortnight

Give it 2 years, net assets of -£7m would still be more than us.MellowYellow wrote: 01 May 2023, 18:04 Looking at their accounts their a richer club than us with net assets of £7million.

Thank you for acknowledging , but that aside as you appear to be a guy in the know…. Maybe you can answer how many season tickets we sold last season ? As nobody else seems to know.
