Sounds harsh "worst player this season?" I would prefer to say the player who has not reached the performance levels they are capable of.

There are sadly one to many candidates so far, but the one who stands out for me and this is purely on mistakes, and boy in my opinion he has made far to many that have directly led to goals against..Joe Oastler, sorry Joe nothing personal. A young player with heaps of potential and will move onwards in time.

agree with oastler always looks liable to give away a needless freekick or possession....
interesting you say Stevens any particular reason or just the scape goat he usually becomes

Very diplomatic of you Dave!

1. Shock horror it's BB. No not Big Brother but something equally as pointless, Billy Bodin. Nothing to do with the fee, if he cost nothing he would still be a complete and utter failure as a footballer from what i have seen so far this season. Of course we all, even i know what he has in him but if he's not prepared to show us in even 25% of games then he is massively underperforming and so there is no place for him in the side.

2. Kev Nic, pains me to say it as he is my yellow hero but a lot of times this season he has simply been ripped apart by attackers, he has looked a yard off the pace, he doesn't get forward nowhere near as much as he used to and at times his distribution and delivery at crosses and corners has been sickening. He had one of his best games this season at Burton and if he can recapture that performance from here on in then he maybe able to turn it around.

3. Toss up between Lathrope who i think has been poor, Oastler who has been erratic and Stevens who has been er Stevens and i have to go with Stevens as i think his time should be up now. He's been here a while now and he is just too inconsistent and still hasn't learnt from his mistakes and still looks like he hasn't been able to grasp what most fans expect him to be doing. This season he has reverted into the Danny of old somewhat and he is so frustrating. His game HAS improved to cope with the rigours of league football but there are literally milions of times he has had so many promising opportunities to run into acres of space, to run at defenders, to dink the ball past the full back and whip a cross in and we just get the usual predictable stop, turn back or cut inside. He is now pre-programmed as he has done this manouevre that many times it is now innate and i find it unacceptable that a player who has been doing this for the best part of 5 years STILL hasn't fathomed what he should be doing with the ball in these positions.

Oh and your last point Ben, Morris is a huge miss. I like Ian and he is very underrated and gets undeserved stick imo.

Jarvis scores goals in the box given the right service that's why Stevens p*sses me off so much. Stevens set up Jarvo superbly for our goal in the 1-1 draw with Northampton before Christmas but he has had a million and one opportunities to get some balls into Jarvo but hasn't taken them. If we don't play to Jarvo's strengths he won't score goals, give him the service and he will. I am also pleased with his increased workrate on the field too. We maybe don't need another striker, just some new wingers.

Not necessarily the worst but perhaps the most disappointing:-

1. Billy Bodin - last season he was great at cutting inside and letting rip with a hammer shot.....this season, nothing.
2. Joe Oastler - delivers a decent ball but very poor positional sense defensively and I actually think he would be better as a right sided midfielder with a steady RB behind him. I'd actually like to see Leadbitter get more chances.
3. Nicholson/Mansell - Both have had poor seasons by their standards and hopefully it's just a blip.

If a player isn't performing, I'm not afraid to say so.

Players should never get an easy ride simply because they did well once.......

Stop being such a pansy. If you can't back up your views when pressed on them that's your problem.

I did back them up... its no coincident the 3 games he missed we were playing better. when I went York we played well the midfield were dynamic and able to pass.
