2013/4 season ticket prices and entrance fees announced

Post by bixieupnorth »

surprised theres not a thread for this already, but the prices for next season were announced today

http://www.torquayunited.com/news/artic ... l#anchored

pop side staying the same, bench up slightly, family stand deals and a new bridging price for 16 and 17 year olds are the main points

odd to announce these before we know which league we will be playing in yet??
still keeping the faith

I think being in relegation trouble is probably the reason no one's done this thread, saw the prices this morning when I came home from work, was a bit shocked.

To keep season tickets holders and loyal fans on side would have thought they have waited and prehaps put a very small but realistic reduction in the prices should we go down, sometimes less is more. Would it be better to have 1300 seaosn tickets holders at a slightly reduced price than having 500 and the current price.

i won't be renewing mine either way league 2 or conference i've had season tickets for quite a few years now, even the 2 years in the conference, miss 3 games this season because of other commitments, would of missed many more if it wasn't for having the season ticket.

I'm not renewing my ticket either. I have no issue seeing us lose, but the way we have played over this season has just been awful. I have found myself looking at the fixtures on a friday and being relieved I didn't have a game to go and see as we where away that weekend. I will still come and see some games, but they will be games of my choosing

Must admit, I think the timing of this is quite frankly ridiculous.

As others have said the pricing, whilst ok for League 2,certainly looks expensive for Non League football.

Either way, the last thing on my mind at this moment in time, after the season we have endured, is giving thought to renewing my season ticket!!! I certainly won't be doing it before the end of the season and in all honesty I seriously doubt many will.

Not sure where the promise to "give something back to S/T holders" (after the recent cheap deals etc) is in all of this to be honest. Pegging prices in the current economic climate is quite frankly the very least I would expect and if it ends in relegation and we are supposed to pay the same for an inferior product i.e. Non League football .. I really don't expect them to shift many at all at these prices.

I agree with Chris, the timing of this is bizarre. The deadline for Early Bird deals comes before the end of the season before we know our fate or perhaps those in charge have already decided it.
I can't see any supporter putting their hand in their pocket before we know if it's League 2 or BSP.
If the latter I for one will want to know who our manager is before deciding if I can face travelling on a regular basis.
The Board should a) review their timings for ticket purchases for deals and b) if it is the BSP then the actual prices.

Been a long time season ticket holder, and right now I am not going to come out and say whether I am going to re-new my S/T or not, I am just not sure at the moment and may feel differently when the time comes.

Before anyone throws at me or anyone else the old through thick and thin, been doing that for a very long time now, and I am tired of it. I have worked all night and driven all day to get some games, I have spent money I truely did not have to go to games, and it just feels like I, as a fan in return get kicked in the teeth.

Of course the club does not set out to kick me or any fan in the teeth, the club allways sets out to do it's best for all concerned. This season however we have ended up firefighting a situation which could and should have been avoided with ease, and that is beyond frustrating.

The club talked about League 1, plastic pitchs and play-offs while it obvious to most of us the team was struggling and needed some help, to make matters worse Lingy went sick. Think the club must have had a good idea it would be months not weeks before he would return, and again they sat there and did nothing while 18 pts just floated off down the river with Taylor in charge and clearly so far out of his depth it was untrue.

There many short term fix's the club could have used to all set out above, and we could so easliy been sat midtable and safe with just a bit of foresight, and thats why I am struggling to get my head around all of this, I would be the first to say no point in crying over spilt milk and that is true, but these are some of the reasons why I am not sure whether I will re-new or not.

That said like the rest, I will never turn back on this club and if I do not, I will attend games next season regardless just not all of them.

 I am not normally one to criticise the board but the decision to both increase prices and to announce the prices now is frankly an own goal.

I've been a season ticket holder for many years and obviously know many other season ticket holders and can tell the board that frankly there is close to zero appetite for season ticket renewals at present.

I am now in the bench and whilst the view is fantastic the total lack of facilities and stupid decisions (like keeping the few fans who attended behind after the Rotherham match) is starting to piss off the most resilient of fans.

To learn now we must pay more next season, no matter what happens, means that many just will not bother.

The value for the product on display this season is quite frankly appalling and once a season ticket holder does not renew you see them at fewer matches the next season.

Many of the board think they have the same experience as the fans do at Plainmoor, but nothing could be further from the truth.

They get easy and free parking, warm free drinks and free alcoholic drinks before during and after the match, free programmes, a meal after the match and even then don't have to argue with the wife to get £20 (sorry £21) pocket money to go and see a match.

I could easily get out of the habit of going to Plainmoor and that is a risk to the club, no one has the appetite for conference football especially at those prices

Nice offer of loyalty for all us season ticketers. Highly doubt I'll get one next year.

I was expecting a slight reduction and a free ticket for a cup game or whatever, not too much to ask surely?

I thought you were a die hard Nick who will support the team until the very end, at least that's what you said about the last 4 games of this season on another thread. If you aren't going to go much next season then why get so upset about me thinking we're already down as it shouldn't bother you what league we're in as you won't be there. :~D
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

If i lived in Torquay i'd get one definatley and kick off at the board. It's OUR club and not theirs and to not go would make the club suffer. That is not TUFC's fault, it's the fault of the people running the club so i urge people to go regardless but protest, do what the French do and let people know we're not f*cking happy about stuff instead of inaction and procrastination on here. Not having a pop because i'm the same but if we want people to listen how unhappy we are and propose solutions then we need to be getting interactive and getting the attention of the people who are at the helm.

They get easy and free parking, warm free drinks and free alcoholic drinks before during and after the match, free programmes, a meal after the match and even then don't have to argue with the wife to get £20 (sorry £21) pocket money to go and see a match.
If paying tens, or in some cases hundreds, of thousands of pounds means the drinks, and parking, are free then there is something wrong with that mentality.
As it is, many of the club's directors buy drinks in the bar at some point on a matchday.
Furthermore, a number of the board actually put their hands in their pockets and buy their own season tickets despite being able to enter Plainmoor for free. I know of one who has bought four to enable himself and his family to come and watch without taking 'freebies' for which they would be entitled, whilst another has two.

Wonder how much of an argument ensues when turning to one's wife over breakfast and suggesting writing out a cheque for £35,000 to get to see matches at Torquay United 'for free'? Then some months down the line expaining that a little more needs to come out of the account, 'as a top up'?
