Manager

Given that the last manager was sacked for footballing reasons based on results and cup exits etc how long has AK got to avoid being subjected to same situation.................

An established Ling team would have lost 1-0. An evolving AL team may have lost 1 -3, but had a good goal disallowed and an exciting strike blasted the wood work. Doesn't answer the question I know, but maybe adds perspective to the discussion............

Interesting thought, not sure which would have been best though.............I hope he is given a fair crack tho, seems these days that perhaps we expect to much, limited funds etc but we still demand more and don't give managers time or opportunity to build over several seasons. Most successful managers take several seasons to get the squad they want that performs consistently?

I hope not for a long time! My post on the Oxford matchday thread may have been quite negative, but it was fair on the football I saw. Having said that, I hope AK stays at TQ1 for a long time. I think he is a good manager, has the correct attitude towards the club and when he and the signings have had enough time to gel and get settled, I think we will be seeing good standard of football at Torquay....just as long he starts playing Craig ;-)
