Post by Richinns »

Here is my guess (very similar to last week I would have thought).

Poke
O'Conner Pearce Downes Nico
Lathrope
Manse Labadie
Benyon Bodin
Stockley

Subs:
Rice
Cruise
Tonge
Mozika (if he is still with us - if not Craig)
Chapell
Yeoman
Hawley

Six rows of players? This is getting silly.

No idea who he'll play, depends who he has available. Is 2300z the latest that registrations for tomorrow's game, or is that only at the end of a window?

Matt.

I think(!) players registrations are either 24 hours before kick off or 12 midday the day before. 12 is ringing a bell from when we got caught out a year or two ago.

I'm thinking maybe something similar but (and I know it's controversial) dropping O'Connor to the bench (no fault of his own, just better tactics), moving Manse to right-back(!) and putting Craig in the middle.
From what I have heard Greavsie say with Lathrope and Labadie in the middle I think he would like to opt for some more ball playing in the middle.

Google is your friend:

Noon the day before, or three hours before kick-off. Whichever is the earliest.

How can three hours before kick off ever be earlier than midday the day before?

Greavsie would be quite justified in taking Manse out of the centre, but there would zero justification in playing him at RB ahead if O'Connor. If that was to happen, alarm bells would start ringing for me.

It never will.

Skim reading isn't your friend (in my case anyway!!)

12 noon the day before for registration (41.2), then however you interpret 41.3.1 and 41.3.2 - blowed if I can, but then English isn't my first language :)

I was just thinking that Mansell's experience and leadership on the pitch would still be needed in our current situation.

Hmm, the only alternative would be to move Manse to RB and O'Connor back into the centre. There's no way O'Connor should be dropped though, he's our best defender. Reckon he'll stick with Manse in the middle anyway. Doubt he'll make significant changes in his first game.

For actual signings it is 12 noon the day before.

For all loans it is either:
For weekday matches - 3 hours before kick off
For weekend matches - the earlier of 12 noon THE DAY OF THE GAME or 3 hours before kick off.

If he goes with Mansell and Nico at full backs then I will actually give up going. Personally I would go along the lines of Harrop's team last week. I would make two changes - Cruise for Nicholson and Mozika for Lathrope - just think Mozika's got a bit more to his game.
I actually think that Hawley did ok with Benyon last week and deserves another chance. Stockley can come on later in the game.

Is what I'd do (not what Greavsie will do).

EDIT: In reality that's probably took expansive away from home. Swap Stockley for Manse and make it 4-3-3.
