Chester v Torquay National League Sat 8 Oct 2016 3pm
Not an easy game. Chester are unbeaten in six matches. Is it winnable for the Gulls? Certainly, but much will depend on the team Kevin Nicholson will be able to put together, down to the bare bones even with the two new signings. Seems we can only afford young and relatively inexperienced players at the present time rather than older experienced men. However, determination, hard work, and the will to win will be the more important factors in this game. If everyone pulls his weight we will have a chance, though it must be said that in our current situation we will do well to get a draw. I'll go for Chester 1 Torquay 1.

Could possibly only have 14 players, including Kev.

Although we want to win every match possible, tomorrow's match isn't as important as next Saturday's money-generating F.A. Cup game. So any players carrying knocks or 'twinges' should be rested, or on the bench, if possible in my opinion.

If we did this then it would be a torquay 5-a side match. We have a backbone of 11 for tomorrow, so the rest have a lot to prove , almost playing for there future ( this could work to our advantage, and yes it could go horribly wrong). A draw would be fantastic in the circumstances. To rest players for next weekend is not an option.tomogull wrote:Although we want to win every match possible, tomorrow's match isn't as important as next Saturday's money-generating F.A. Cup game. Bring back Will Hancock for the Chester match.

Unfortunately it is not run like a professional club. That is why we are in the current predicament.arcadia wrote:This is a professional club every game is important and we need points as well as a cup win.
No one can take their eye off the ball.
Heart says we can win. Head says it's going to be a repeat of last season when we got battered. Whatever happens, I'll be there cheering us on.

Can't believe it but both Sky Sports and BBC Non-League site show that we have only one substitute listed for this match - Kevin Nicholson. Surely this can't be true or have we sunk to new lows? Maybe not enough room on the minibus to take subs as well!
3 on the bench. Nicho and the two new lads.
1-0 to Chester. Clear pen but their bloke was 2 yards offside before the foul.
No commentary on any game now, however I believe the Gulls are 1 goal down now, Lloyd scoring for Chester.
