Club Accounts Overdue
Club Accounts Overdue
I see that Jon on TFF has noted that the clubs accounts are overdue to HMRC. Another step in the 5 year plan?

Accounts overdue from such an experienced business man, nothing to hide is there?

haha now who's taking things out of context like I've been accused. They can apply for an extennsion for submitting accounts for a start. Then in addition your assuming the pervious board did their work. GI only took over in January. The accounts would need to have been sent to the accountant around that time so they can do their work. I was told by my accountant firm that he needed them at least 2 months before. it wasn't as if i was his only account. everyone wants their accounts done but sending them to an accountant a month before their due is likely to be met with rolled eyes. and being told they won't have to time to put enough staff on them to submit them as they have other customers who want theirs done and they sent them a long time before. pick on things that can be latched onto. this argument is at best weak and too loosely aimed

It's a fact that they are late though. Your mistake was thinking the lyrics of a song were the request of some nutjobs to kick off

Nonsense. Filing of accounts is nothing to do with HMRC. So not overdue to them or indeed no fine from them.
Company tax return (not likely to be any tax payable!) goes to HMRC.
Companies House can issue late filing penalty- £150 if one month late.

they can issue a fine if you don't talk to them but if you contact them then they will issue an extension. I know Ive had on or two. and then fine is only issued if the accounts are still not filed.

There are certainly consequences if returns to HMRC or to Companies House are not made on time. And am I right in thinking that if returns are not made at all to Companies House, then ultimately they can have the company wound up and dissolved ? If so, I'm sure that must have occurred to Clarke Osborne...

I don't think they are late to be honest; they were 'signed off' by Clarke Osborne by the deadline on March 31st
