Ambition or Submission?
Geoff Harrop is clearly showing where the prioroties lie, we've put in a 7 day approach for Jack Compton of Bath City.................

I wonder if Jennison Myrie-Williams could be moving in the opposite direction.

An account of one of his recent displays: http://www.bathchronicle.co.uk/sport/fo ... ton-891470
I’m surprised this move hasn’t happened sooner. Was expecting this to happen as soon as Owers became manager.
Staying at Bath may be the better option for him.....

Ditto, What is that then Dave?
It's something that happens in the lower reach's of the non-league, and only applies to non-league football, Once a club has made a 7 day approach, the players current club must inform the player and have 7 days in which to talk to the player, after 8 days the buying club is free to speak the player concerned, who can choose to stay at his current club or move the buying club.

The 7 day approach only kicks in once our club secretary receives a read receipt / acknowledgement from the player's current club secretary. So now we have tipped off Bath City of the approach expect their club secretary wont open the e-mail for another 3 weeks.

I'm very familiar with the 7 day approach rule, it's commonly used in local football. It only applies to players who are registered with a non-league club on non-contract terms, and whilst I've known of local clubs being a tad awkward and trying there best to stall the process, in this case if such an approach has been made, and there's reason to believe it hasn't, the player will know, and if wants to move, he will.

The approach was made nearly a week ago and my information is that Bath won't stand in his way.

Well might as well see what all the fuss is about. Looks like he could fit in well for next season's National League South fixtures. With plenty of hoof-ball and dreadful marking I can even foresee Lathrope getting 20 league goals.

I think this has always been somewhat destined.
