Transfer discussion 25/26
Would have been better if it had gone in..........notnow wrote: 21 May 2025, 14:47 Excerpt from the match report- Tamworth’s last match v Altrincham. 5th May “Ben Crompton put Tamworth into the lead in the 14th minute and the visitors went close to doubling their lead when Munashe Sundire's volley crashed back off the crossbar.”
Sounds promising!

Season Ticket pricing.
I wouldn't call this leisurely thanks. I think thats a bit harsh.gullsgullsgulls wrote: 18 May 2025, 10:23 It is pretty clear from the various examples given that some folks are impacted more than others, both due to the nature of family groups and because *and here is the shocker* some people have more money than others.
Just because you can afford £240+ for a leisurely weekend visiting Torquay, that does not mean someone else who is already financially stretched cannot comment on the increase being painful without being labelled a whinger!
If you're local then you are more lucky than myself and others who travel down for games.
My point was - we - as a group of exiles - don't moan about the cost of travel, hotels, etc. compared to more local fans who have a season ticket, or in this case, have to pay extra for next seasons.
As has been pointed out - and you seemed to have missed - the cost hasn't increased for a number of years, and when it has been some are up in arms.
Can't have it all ways........

portugull wrote: 17 May 2025, 13:42 This is how I see the Price Rise.
As a Senior I bought my Season Pass today as an Early Bird retaining my seat in Bristows for £349. Cost £15.17p per game.
The increase based on 52 weeks works out at 82 pence per week after a 3 year price freeze. I am not complaining.
I pay about £15 per game against £20 per game for a full price ticket in Bristows. I get 25% off. Very fair in my book to support my lifelong team in their quest to return to the EFL.

Great post, sums it up how actually it hasnt risen that much.
Jeez, I don't mind (or moan) paying £80 for petrol and around £120 to stay in a B&B to watch my team.
Mrs SNW & I will pay the £20 each to watch TUFC, anything to help the custodians of our club continue in their quest to improve our club and league position.
Some fans need to put things into perspective FFS.

Lighten up pal, for god's sake....Taelee73 wrote: 07 May 2025, 14:03 Yes because 16 months is such an age ago.
The point I was making, which you can't seem to grasp, is that Wotton built a side there in time that played incisive, attacking, free flowing football and I assume he will do the same here. He's made a side quickly that's hard to beat and will hopefully now start adding flair and pace.
I'm sure you'll reply with another well thought out positive comment.
I was having a laugh....

2023? Great.Taelee73 wrote: 06 May 2025, 17:51 The one Christmas 2023 I think, with Paul Wottons Truro team winning 0-1 at Plainmoor. They played us off the pitch and deserved to win by more, their style very reminiscent of Borehams on Saturday and although they only won by a goal, they totally dismantled us for 90 minutes and should have won more easily. Don’t you remember that one as I take it you were there?
Jeez, why dont you go back to 1974, when Darlo played us off the park when they won 4-2...???
And no I wasn't there - not that makes any difference - but watched it on TV if thats OK with you...

Southampton Gull wrote: 04 May 2025, 19:38 Great summary although I've not seen any Wotton Out posts on here.
I'm not a fan as I've often stated but the target was promotion and he almost delivered so no need for panic from me. I do feel he's too negative and that's probably what grates me the most. That said he's done more than enough to justify the chance to improve us further for a serious crack next season.
What I don't want to see is the same dour performances that dominated this season. He's set us on an upward trajectory thanks to the backing of the Bryn Consortium so I'm expecting a big improvement in the squad next season.
The positivity around the club has been unbelievable after so many years of toxicity and let's all hope it continues.
B+ for me this season and hoping for an A next season.

Well said Dave, says me from posting!

Heart say disappointed we didn't win - head says we'd have needed a lot of changes to have been competitive in NL.
For me, it was a great season, as I didn't expect us to have a team to support.
Thanks againg to the Bryn Consortium.

Don't know which game you were watching....Taelee73 wrote: 04 May 2025, 19:58 He made us hard to beat, I agree that I hope he can now start more adding guile and pace to the side. Tbf his Truro side totally dismantled us at Plainmoor not so long ago playing the same football Boreham did on Saturday, but to build a first eleven and squad that can do that will take time.

So, are you telling me that ther has been no improvement in safety and the implementation of imroved requirements for safety certificates since those two tragic events in the late 1980's??culmstockgull wrote: 02 May 2025, 11:12 or safert
Saferty at sports grouds or safety certificates became law in 1975, did not prevent the bradford fire whose ground had a valid safety certificate or the hillsborough disaster, safety officials never consider worst case scenario's just what the club tells them is in place to mitigate it.

Does it not have a safety cerificate then???culmstockgull wrote: 02 May 2025, 08:39 Any development must first look at the safety issues in bristows, I personally consider it close to dangerous, although my season ticket renewal is not in doubt it will no longer be in bristows, not a week goes by without witnessing a fall or a trip, the age demographic of bristow inhabitees is predomininetly elderly, heaven forbid there was a fire at the rear of the stand that required evacuation, it would be carnage. Even the vertical handrails between each block for support stop two thirds of the way down.
In terms of numbers it is the largest area of the ground but it only has one exit route,in the family stand and the pop side you can go backwards , forwards or sidewards in the event of needing to leave in a hurry, Bristows has a singular option, down very steep steps and then a barrier to the pitch so funnelling fans left tthrough a very narrow corridor towards the exit.

Next season's 3rd shirt, voted for by TUST members
Get a grip......Dilmond wrote: 02 May 2025, 07:51 Two shirts with purple, are we moving away from Plainmoor and moving to Barbados? It has to be the first (blue) one!
I assume we are also changing our first and second kit, and if either of them contain purple I would personally prefer us to go back to the old days and play in 'Skins!'

Its the 3rd Shirt not the home one for gods' sake....
Just like one we've had before...
Has it escaped your attention that the current home shirt is a copy of the retro shirt from 93-95??
