One time Popsider, striker Callum Morton, 25, has been released by Salford City.
Very much in the Matt Jay camp, of scoring 8 in 12 games, to get Northampton promoted (whilst on loan) via a play off final at Wembley. Hasn't found the next regularly in namely league 1 since then. Time to play regularly and score goals.
Would be surprised if we aren't interested.

Your comments in the short time you have been on the forum all seem to be about what the club are not doing well and even what they are doing is wrong or insufficient to meet your exacting standards, kowoing we are under new ownership, effectively debt free what exactly do you propose that is realistic enough to be achievable by any club in the south let alone Torquay.Dilmond wrote: 13 May 2025, 10:44 " let's just see what he pulls out of the bag. Quite sad to see Mussa leave (I mean, I was his sponsor, lol) but you'd have to assume that he was on pretty decent money and he hasn't quite hit the heights we were hoping for. We arguably already have the "talented but slighly unreliable playmaker" role sorted with Matt Jay and Jordan Young still contracted. Wish him all the success - I love a player who tries things, even if it frustrates some people (see also: Armani Little)
agreed. Last season was a free hit for us. Getting as close as we did given our relatively small budget and having to build a squad from the ground up was more than I think any of us had a right to expect. Yes, the football wasn't always great, but it was nice to have the club. Aim for 25/26 is surely winning the division, and I would hope (demand?) that this is the expectation that Paul Wotton is being set. We are in a far stronger position now to bring in the quality that we were lacking at time last season (winger? tough-tackling midfielder? ANOTHER STRIKER THAT SCORES OCCASIONALLY POOR OLD CODY COOKE MUST BE KNACKERED?) and I think the positivity through the club will keep the attendances well above 3,000 *unless* we're struggling. If we're in a title race again I could see that average creeping above 4,000 by season's end.Southampton Gull wrote: 11 May 2025, 19:02 On this seasons income alone we've exited the cva AND just missed automatic promotion. Crowds won't suddenly diminish unless we show no ambition whatsoever and I seriously don't expect anything less than promotion objectives from the Bryn members. There's nothing wrong with looking locally but equally nothing wrong looking further afield.

I don't have exacting standards, in fact I doubt I have any standards at all.
Yes we do have new owners, yes we are effectively debt free, yes we do have an incredible fan base, yes the sun does shine in Torquay, yes Torquay fans are happy to be stood in the pop-side singing " yellow army " who ever we are playing!
Someone previously mentioned that Rome wasn't built in a day, but it was knocked down in one day though.
It seems that some people do not understand my posts?
So to ease any misunderstanding, I will withdraw until the end of the coming season, when I shall return either euphoric or with raised eyebrows!

Interesting range of comments and thoughts. We all want the best for the club.
Some of us just want a clubl and that's enough. It's the journey and not the destination.
I want a community enhancing, fan led, sustainable club. It's never been dull as a Gulls supporter.
I will turn up, buy the shirts, eat the chips drink the beer, travel 186.7 miles to a home game taking in Taunton services and drag confused family members out in the rain in February to watch 22 guys fighting it out and giving it everything.
2025-6 is like everything in life. It's an unknown, with every club (and its fans) plotting scheming training buying and selling hoping to get "the team" that gells and doesn't implode. 20 Teams are going to "fail" in NLS next season. Its stepping into the unknown that makes it fun-exciting-frustrating-blood-boiling-shit ref descions-its was never off side-get your flag up Lino.....etc.
See you for the Exeter game where we beat them again....

I want a competitive team on the pitch, doesnt really matter which league but you would think a competitive team would naturally rise over the long term. I think we are now on the right track and am looking forward to the journey, however long it takes.

Would be a great signing but can imagine there will be interest from a lot of teams higher than us in the pyramidParkys People wrote: 13 May 2025, 11:18 One time Popsider, striker Callum Morton, 25, has been released by Salford City.

I see today that a certain Nathan Smith has been released by port vale, we had him on loan in 2016 initially for 3 months but he stayed for the season, he was only a youngster then but he was that good not only did he win the young player of the year but also the player of the year. Please sir, can we have him back.

Excerpt from the match report- Tamworth’s last match v Altrincham. 5th May “Ben Crompton put Tamworth into the lead in the 14th minute and the visitors went close to doubling their lead when Munashe Sundire's volley crashed back off the crossbar.”
Sounds promising!
