The handicapped

They make me feel ashamed of myself and never cease to inspire me the way that these people can get on with their lives without complaint when dealing with often severe physical or mental impairments. I'm not being condescending or patronising here, i know many of these people don't wish to be viewed as handicapped and their sense of independance is incredible. I just think that we can be proud if we know someone like this and take inspiration from the way they go about their lives whilst people like me moan at every little thing that doesn't even matter in the grand scheme of things.

I work with physically handicapped kids at school and they just get on with life as they've never known any different. The majority of them (depending on which disability they have) are barking mad! It's quite humbling.
The kids with any of the plethora of 'made up' syndromes (mostly to cover up bad behaviour) on the other hand........

The sea

You lot down there are spoilt, you can be looking at the sea in a matter of minutes in some cases. For me it's a 2 hour drive to Brid or Scabbyrough or Whitby. Cleethorpes is only an hour or so away but : A] It's not technically the sea you are looking at when gazing out towards Spurn Head, it's the Humber Estuary and B] It's a complete sh*thole.

We're very lucky to live on an island with such beautiful coastline and there's nothing better than walking along the beach taking it all in ( the fresh air i mean not the cannabis ) and wondering what is underneath it, all the amazing creatures. So for me, the sea is precious and makes me happy when i can get there.

Yeah, I second that Andy.

I live in the only area of Guernsey that isn't connected in some way to a coastline but even then, a short 5/10 minute drive and I arrive at the coast.
