Sorry to see Moxey released, but I guess age has caught up with him.
Mussa... a bit like Marmite (Brixham63 will be gutted!)
Ash... never really featured this season so no surprise there.
Zanzala... he tried
Threlkeld and Seymour on transfer list... Don't think Seymour was the answer, and as for Threlkeld - especially as captain - in the games I've seen him play I don't think I heard him once!

Thought a few more were going to be released, and had heard hasani was off but we’ve offered him a deal. Would assume the budget will be considerably larger this season and I look forward to seeing who we bring in.

I think more will go, threlkeld, seymour, crosbie, moxey was calling it a day anyway, Palmer, i would definetley keep, he can play in several positions, and he never gets bullied, Hamon needs to be careful not to be too greedy in his negotiations.CourtierGull wrote: 09 May 2025, 13:16 Thought a few more were going to be released, and had heard hasani was off but we’ve offered him a deal. Pretty much spot on and a really strong starting place with 11 odd decent players under contract compared to last season.
Mussa brilliant at times, but way too inconsistent.
Ash a shame as he somehow scored those 20 odd goals a few seasons ago.
Moxey tbh I’d have been happy if he’d stayed as a part time coach and player if needed.
Oscar, how he was a captain, quiet and mostly ineffective.
Zanzala a shame as he could hold the ball up, beat players.
Not sure the budget will be much larger if we’re still aiming to be self sufficient.

Silly season indeed, but no harm in a bit fun with transfer speculation, but I'm with some others here, why oh why do we bother every close season scrolling around looking for ex players to sign, so far all ex players mention, just no to all them, although having said that Angus MacDonald deserves a little more attention, I and a friend met up with SNW a few weeks ago and went to Oakwell to watch Barnsley v Exeter, Gus played for the Greeks in that game and did all right in my view, he's player who's never had a problem moving around to play football, can see him having a few League 1 and many League 2 options he's not coming here.
I went to every home match bar one, and 5 away games also. I've said more than a few times I liked Mussa, and he is a thoroughly decent man also, but this professional football not charity and we need realism.
I saw Mussa give the ball away in midfield far too many times, and some really important goals conceded as a direct result of that, saw him far too many times skip 2 tackles and not pass the ball when there was an attacking overload, instead try and beat a third man. As for Mussa's shooting boy where do we start, they use to ask those stood by the windows in the cooperate boxes to move for their own safety.
Became a running joke with me and those I stand with, we used to guess whether Mussa's first shot would bounce off the roof, land in another post code, or actually test the keeper, trouble is he rarely tested the keeper, got to be better options out there.
Mussa inconsistent at best, at times bloody awful.
Threlkeld never did enough for me, a poor mans Asa Hall (at his best for TUFC) Ash, Zanzala, Seymour no surprise really.

I think you covered mussa very well , quick feet, slow brain and I still remember him putting one shot onto the swiming pool roof from 20 yards, having said that I would personally take him most days over hasani whose siimlar weakness is to give to the opposition the ball far too many times, at hemel he was truly dire and as I have said before in a one on one tackle situation with a blade of grass my money would be on the grass 9 times out of 10.Dave wrote: 09 May 2025, 14:01 Silly season indeed, but no harm in a bit fun with transfer speculation, but I'm with some others here, why oh why do we bother every close season scrolling around looking for ex players to sign, so far all ex players mention, just no to all them, although having said that Angus MacDonald deserves a little more attention, I and a friend met up with SNW a few weeks ago and went to Oakwell to watch Barnsley v Exeter, Gus played for the Greeks in that game and did all right in my view, he's player who's never had a problem moving around to play football, can see him having a few League 1 and many League 2 options he's not coming here.

Ugly realism...Mussa will come back and score against us, as written by the capricious Gods of football. He was getting better...
Can't disagree with the retained and those negotiating who I hope we can keep...WJD I'm hoping for...
Zanzala and Ash I would have kept but PW knowing the league must have targets who are better.....

Well I think Paul Wotton is saying I believe in a lot of my players who came so close to pulling off the Title and with many of the best players under contract it was not to difficult to make a few decisions.
Deano I shall miss big time. A wonderful career. Never have I seen a player read the game as well as Deano. All the best Deano it has been a joy to watch you at Plainmoor.
Oscar Threlkeld hughly dissappointing player. Mussa sorry but a very poor performer most of the time. What a waste of talent he just does not know how to play as a Team Player.
Brad Ash in reality is not big and powerful which strikers need to be in the modern game. A poacher of goals but lacking power.
Football in the NLS is played by big, pacy, very fit guys and we need pace in the team next season. Skill is important but BW showed us you need pace and power to be the best.
It would be ironic if Maidstone who came 7th beat BW in the Final. I hope BW prevail.

Rohan ince 6’3 holding midfielder and can also play defence released by woking. Definitely has some qualities we’ve been missing.

I thought we'd pulled off a bit of a coup in signing Mussa, and on paper should have been our best player, but his potential never really materialised for us.
And yes, as others have said, I'm sure he will come back and score against us and probably end up at a higher level too with the right support.
Shame not to see Moxey stay as part of the coaching setup but perhaps he has other plans.
Will be very interesting to watch the recruitment process this time around - I think we had a few hasty signings this time given we started with almost zero players, but with a reasonable core to build on, I hope we can be a bit more selective this time around.

Receive ball in crowded area, step over, step over, find some space, forget to look up, dribble back into crowded area, aimless pass to opposition player.
In my experience, Mussa tends to do the hard bit and then loses concentration and puts the team on the back foot too many times.
Certainly a good player but not effective for us - hope he finds his home (in another league!)

They'll be a 1 or 2 in from Truro if a couple of rumours I've heard come true, their change of circumstance will leave some with a decision around their part time work

Oh no, is Wotton not aware that there are other clubs in the country that you can get players from?

Welcomed, I would go and pick him up, 27 goals last season and top scorer in the south, that signing alone would turbo charge seaosn ticket sales.
