We did try to warn you guys what he was like, for most (not all) he was hard to take at times, the thing I disliked about him most was how many players would be played out of position, really ridiculous at times. I wish you luck, post Buckle of course, until he gets shafted I hope you lose every game ;-)
You did warn us Dave and everything you've said from falling out with players, blaming people and playing out of position have all come true. I was willing to support the guy but he's really lost me now and alienated the majority of the fan base quicker than any other manager in my 18 years supporting the gas.

At least we can all share a laugh and joke about the special one now.

Re: Comedy gold (Buckle)

I hate to admit it but I tend to agree with most of what Britishgas is saying there. It's alarming how accurate your views were prior to the appointment. Most of the things predicted have happened. I.e falling out with players, playing people out of position, excuses, bad signings.... I could go on and on.

It's still early days and I tend to be loyal towards managers but it's certainly not looking good at the moment. Will he be sacked though? Absolutely no chance, whatever fans say or think. For Higgs to sack him and admit defeat in ANOTHER managerial appointment would effectively be the writing on the wall for himself.

P.S. I've been avoiding posting on here for a while as I hated to admit defeat and you were right all along :)

Re: Kuffour leaving Rovers

He's too inconsistent so the majority of fans are happy to see the back of him. Zero chance of this happening though. He wants to move closer to London not further away (get ready for everyone to mention Carayol going to Lincoln again haha).

While he looks threatening at times, he's also pretty ineffective at others and certainly never consistent. I hope he moves on and Zebroski plays up front as he was excellent there last night and looks much more comfortable than on the wing.

I hear Howe went off injured last night. Does anyone know if it's serious? He did struggle with injuries at us and seems really slow at recovering so hopefully nothing more than a precaution he came off. Surprised he's been playing twice a week as he just can't do it and needs a rest to be effective.

Re: Billy Kee gone

If you don't mind me asking how many goals did Kee get last year? Have you always had players say they're home sick down there or is it a recent excuse to engineer a move?

For what it's worth I was very impressed with the Atieno & Howe partnership when you played against us. Also heard Bodin is a decent prospect. Like Brucie said you've also got a player that scored 18 goals in the league below so sure you'll be fine if you avoid injuries.

Re: Torquay vs Crawley

Sounds like Crawley were very impressive, we have them on 3rd September and don't hold too many hopes. I don't disagree with SG at all as have always said I think we'll be in and around the playoffs this year and certainly won't win it. While promotion this season would be great, ultimately it's a 2 year goal.

The game against Macclesfield was painful to watch at times but we've looked much more solid since Smith (the right back that played against you) was dropped and have only conceded 1 in 2 since. Zebroski has struggled but he needs to be given time. Some of our fans are so unrealistic and inpatient and it really gets on my nerves. No team brings in 15 new players then walk the league.

It's been a decent start from you and better than alot of you were predicting, guess we'll have a clearer picture in the next 5 or 6 games. See you have Dagenham next, think that'll be a close game settled by an odd goal. They've started pretty well.

For how much stick Stevens get's I thought he looked a danger against us, especially in the first half. I also cursed it by saying Oastler looked like he was bad positionally only for him to get in the L2 team of the week lol.

Re: CONGRATULATIONS

Just thought I'd pop on and say well done, you thoroughly deserved the win! Good atmosphere from you all too, one of the few away teams that have created a decent one at the Mem.

I've got the hangover from hell today so can't really be bothered to give my in-depth analysis but was really impressed with your team.

Also met up with some of your fans before and after the game and were a really good laugh.

Re: Rovers match in doubt

Tomorrows game may be off just due to timing but doubtful. There wasn't that much trouble in Bristol. Some in Stokes Croft which is at the bottom of Gloucester road.

Saturdays game will be on.

Re: Rovers match in doubt

It'll be on. Citys game was only called off because it was against Swindon so would need a fairly big police presence.

Rovers should still be on against Watford tomorrow so no chance it'll be off Sat.

I wouldn't get too worried friendlygas it's all part of the fun. I don't blame you guys for wanting to vent your frustration towards Buckle, tbh if I was in your position I'd do the same. I fully expect Buckle to get his fair share of boos and jeers prior to the game, but during everyone will be focused on the match.

It's going to be a fiery one and a good atmosphere that's for sure. Shaun Taylor is going to get a good reception too

Re: Bristol meet up/roll call

Away fans are always welcome in the Anchor, which is where we normally start drinking but is abit further down Gloucester road (maybe 10 min walk to the ground). You can also drink in the club house bar at the ground.

There's also usually a designated away pub for big games, obviously I've never been in there but I think it's called the lion. It's also on the Gloucester road.

After the anchor we usually go in the Queen Vic for drinks, sometimes you see a couple of away fans but for big games it tends to be home fans only. Prob not the best place for you all if there's a big group of you.

Re: Torquay United v Burton Albion - League 2 - 06/08/11

Good post and very witty! I think you should win this one fairly comfortably, I'm going for 2-0.

I didn't realise they'd signed Justin Richards, possibly one of the worst strikers to ever wear the blue & white quarters. Great bit of business from Holloway, only £75,000 and zero goals in 16 appearances. Can't imagine he'll cause your defence too many problems.

Good luck guys, hope you start off with a win!

Hmm, how do you know??

I've seen some utter sh*te players play blinders in pre season friendlies and reserve games.......it means nothing.

I have done a prediction table for an online competition. I based my placings at studying the comings and goings at verious clubs, with TUFC I have seen a few of the signings play before and read up on the others. Most seem to be lost journeymen with more clubs that NIck Faldo, never having achieved much.

Its obviously not an exact science but I just don't rate your signings or manager, thats just my opinion. I never said I was dealing in facts, unless you have a time machine nobody can regarding the future.

I think the bitterness stems from when Buckle joined and most of your fans were putting us down saying it was a "sideways" move and they we weren't a very big club. We are not massive but a lot bigger than TUFC, but do have massive potential when the new stadium is up and running.
Man you need to chill out and stop going on and on and on and on about the same points. They've had a very good pre-season, as have we so have the same right to be optimistic about the upcoming season. Let's just see how we both get on and try not to keep ramming our opinions down their throats. We wouldn't like it if opposition fans came on our forum saying how crap we'll do so let's show some respect. They have been very patient taking all the crap from our lot this summer.

Lol I've never heard it described that way Regiment but it is a mess and like a jigsaw in the wrong places

The away fans usually get the south stand (seating behind the goal) and the corner of the uplands terrace (furthest away from our singers in the blackthorn end).

I was going to, I had a big old post about how it didn't matter whether I did or not, since I haven't come across such a childish, "I bet my daddies willy is bigger than your daddies willy" wager since primary school, but then figured that it MIGHT just detract from an otherwise worthy thread, so gave it best.

I think it'll be free money, but there ain't no way he'll pay up when he loses.

Matt.
Haha it all seems to have gone quiet from BG. Come on BG you have 2 offers on the table here.

I tend to agree with friendly, it's got a draw written all over it.
